23 October 2010 8:00pm - 10:00pm
That’s how the latest generation of Brazilian musicians talk about the great musician and songwriter Marku Ribas. His rich music is a mixture of Brazilian rhythms with elements from the Caribbean, jazz and other styles that he has been immersed in since his childhood in Pirapora, Minas Gerais.
Now in his sixties, Marku has developed partnerships with the biggest names of the new generation in Brazilian music. One of his best known songs, Zamba Ben, has become a cult song throughout Brazil and there will be plenty of samba beats during this performance to help you get a groove on.
So join us for an intimate evening with Marku Ribas for what promises to be one of THE concert events of this year’s ASB Queenstown JazzFest.
