Golf Course Development - Phase Two

On August 26th, construction will begin on Phase Two of Millbrook’s golf course redevelopment programme - construction of the island finishing hole, reshaping the Millpond and re-surfacing of the existing 18th hole.

What will be happening

This part of the Millbrook West project will involve construction of a new golf green on the Millpond �peninsula, widening and deepening of the Millpond and upgrading the associated storm water system. While this is underway, the construction team will also be re-surfacing the existing 18th hole, and installing a new irrigation system on the putting green next to the Hole-in-One Bar.

Heavy machinery is expected to be in operation from 8.30am to 5.30pm for �four weeks, and light golf course finishing equipment for two weeks following. We will be trying to minimise disruption to our guests’ stays, however there will be some changes including:

The drop-off car park for the Village Inn will be closed for the duration of the project.
All pedestrian and golf access to and from the Village Inn will be directed along the north pathway via Streamside Road or the temporary access that runs to the 18th green.
A barrier fence, covered with netting cloth will be erected around the perimeter of the construction zone. Access to construction areas will be fenced off overnight �for safety.
Golfers will be using the chipping green for the final green instead of the existing 18th, and will use the Streamside walkway to return to the Proshop.
A temporary road from the car park to the island area will be built. All construction access to the new 9th green area will be via the existing golf course.
